The folks at Google have delivered a couple of interesting ones ... both of these were brought to my attention by my daughter ...

  • I'm a big fan of Google maps.  So ... go to maps.google.com and ask for directions from New York to London.  Read the results carefully.
  • In addition to Google Earth, we also have Google moon.  Go to moon.google.com.  After you've had enough of exploring the moon, don't forget to zoom in the the highest resolution ...

Ah, try the fun road-test, then.  Start in Cambridge MA and get driving instructions to Paris, France.  Note the intermediate step

It'll even work if you start in Juneau! ( a trip of only 7,578 mi)
