Originally, back in October Gene Rooks was getting a runtime 53 error , but I did not see a resolution posted. One of our members is having the same problem when she tries to open the ssg data. She clicks on get ssg data, the screen she gets says "do you want to open or save this file? She clicks on open and then get the run time error 53. She is able to save it to disc and open it, and she can import it from within Toolkit, but can not open it from StockCentral. Thanks, Dorothy

Does this happen for every company?
Which program is she using, and which version?
--------- Downloading should be working just fine!

She is using Toolkit 5.3.1, and it happens with every stock she tries. Thanks, Dorothy |

Dorothy,
I am also using Toolkit 5.1.3. I don't see any of those errors.
So, I'm going to suggest that she contact ICLUBcentral for Tech Support. That's the best that I can do. |

| Hi Al,
Sorry I didn't see your message earlier.
With the Stock Investment Guide, you can save out a SSG file to your desktop. Then you can navigate to the forum you are participating in, and upload the file through your web browser (while in the correct forum).
Also, I have not had any difficulty with Safari to browse the forums.

| I am new to the investment club world as we just joined NAIC in January. Attended a computer class and learned about Stockcentral.com but cannot download SSG's. I have a MAC and from reading the above, it appears that I need to subscribe to Churr. Is that correct? I tried to download a sample of Churr but get a message that I need to go to Preferences. Am totally confused as to how all this works and would like to pass on the info to our computer class about stockcentral. Most members have PC's. Is there a difference in being able to download from stockcentral with a PC than a MAC? Appreciate any help you can give. Loretta Casapulla, San Marcos, Ca. |

Loretta,
When you say that you are unable to download SSG files, I'm not sure what you mean. If you click on a link to an SSG file, your browser should download it just fine.
Your problem is ... what to do with the SSG file once you have downloaded it. NAIC/BetterInvesting doesn't sell software that can use SSG files and that runs on a Mac. That is where Churr software comes in. Churr has a product that will run on the Mac and will open SSG files.
You should be able to go to Churr's web site and download a demo copy of their software. If you are having trouble there, you should contact Churr for support. (Churr's Brad Taylor hangs out here and might see the message, too.)
Your other club member can use any of the NAIC/BI software, or other software.
I should also point out that our Take Stock is available to you, as is the online stock analysis software at stockfundas.com. |
