Help! I clicked on faq and it takes to me to the log in page. My problem originated with not being able to download any ssg's. I get a box that refers to the 101 day license is expired......What do I do? I'm certainly not a computer wizard but so far this has been difficult to navigate. Took searching to find a way to ask my question. Let's see if this works. |

If you're browser doesn't keep you logged in here, it probably means that you have it configure to not accept cookies.

I presume that has to do with your SSG software program.
I'm sure that ICLUBcentral's tech support staff can help you with both of these problems. Contact them by phone at
617-661-2582 (Monday - Friday 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Eastern Time) or by going to http://www.iclub.com/support/sannounce.asp

This is what I get when I go to FAQ. Is there a tutorial for the site? Is there a help site with guidance. Only been on this for an hour or so... I cannot find the guidance. It is like hunt and see what is there. I still don't know how to up load an ssg. It will be interesting to see how your efforts turn out. Best wishes. Herbj1958

This is what I get when I go to FAQ.
Let's go with the suggestion that something wasn't working temporarily. Could you please try going to the faq again? If it fails again, could you please post a note here with the time, and I'll see if I can find the error in the logs. Having the time is a big help.

Joe--
As you can probably tell from the volume of messages from me today, this is the first day I've had time to really visit around on the site. I know somewhere I saw something about correcting the time line that appears when we send messages, but I can't find it again. Can you direct me?
TIA |

| Do you mean setting your time zone? If so, click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen and then click Manage Profile (this is NOT the same as the profile inside of the forums area!). The place to set your time zone is at the bottom of that page. |

| I'm having problems downloading SSG data into toolkit 5. I set the preferences up in Toolkit as instructed in the video but when I try to download data I get a 'Can't import' message "File appears to be an invalid format". If I set the preferences to Niac data, everything works OK. If I am logged into StockCentral and input a ticker, Toolkit comes up and the data is imported. What am I doing wrong? Sam |

Most likely, you've used either the wrong username or the wrong password when setting up your Toolkit preferences. These should be the same username and password that you use to log in at StockCentral.
DO NOT use your email address, even though that's what Toolkit tells you to use. |

While I'd normally encourage all tech questions to go straight to Tech Support at www.iclub.com/support, that's a great one for the FAQ. FAQ #9 now in place, titled I have set Toolkit 5 to use StockCentral, but I get an error when I download stock data.
Thanks for the catch, and if you're still unable to get your data, give us a call at 617-661-2582.

| I am receiving The Classroom and Treasurers' List through Yahoo Mail. The messages often are too wide for my screen. I have looked through my preferences to make a change. I find that I had previously chosen to limit my messages to 70 characters. Is there some choice in StockCentral.com that would send the messages in a smaller screen width? |

The messages come to you in an HTML format, and there is no built-in screen size. What you need to do is find some way to make Yahoo Mail wrap the text for you. If there is an option to display as HTML, that might help.
Perhaps there are others who use Yahoo Mail who can help ... |

Many in our investment club are thinking of investing in Toolkit 5 and using your information. However, as it is now early 2007 it seems that using 2005 data is not very up to date. What is the solution to this problem? Thanks.

> What is the solution to this problem?
This actually isn't a problem. Rather, it is an opportunity for a little education!
For many companies, their most recent fiscal year is the one that ended on 12/31/2006, or ... 2006! Now, those companies have 90 days after the end of the fiscal year before they must report their results for 2006. Some are beginning to "announce" results, but you should pay attention and notice that those announements are not the same as the official filings that the companies will make to the SEC and will (eventually) make their way into our data service. Often, the numbers that are reported preliminarily are not exactly what will be officially reported.
So ... in general you must wait 90 after the end of a fiscal year and 45 days after the end of a quarter to get official results. Hemscott, S&P and others then must get the data, process it, get it into their databases, and distribute it to their customers. This often adds a week or two to the wait.
If you'll look carefully at the data files, you'll find that now we have 2005 plus three quarters of data for these companies. Many investors will add the unofficial quarterly results to the three official quarters to bump the analysis ahead to a "more current" time. If you know what you are doing, this is a reasonable thing to do.
Also, if you use BetterInvesting's Stock Data Service, you'll see that they include preliminary data in their feed. Since none of the software programs, Toolkit included, do not know the difference between preliminary and final data, you should be careful if 2006 numbers begin showing up "early."
I hope this helps. If not, please ask more questions.

Hi Joe, I've found instructions on how to configure Toolkit 5 to download the data files. Is there a way to configure Stock Analyst? It seems that OPS is the only choice.

Stock Analyst cannot be configured to automatically download StockCentral data.
But, if you have Stock Analyst set as your default SSG file user it will open automatically files that you download from the data page. Click on the link on the data page and Stock Analyst will open the file.
If you manually download a file or files from StockCentral and store them on your computer's hard disk, you can update from them using Stock Analyst. |

RE: Weblink error
The "take stock" tab on home page, and all other pages as well, links to http://www.stockcentral.com/takestock/tabid/149/Default.aspx, which displays a screen truncated to just a small column on the left. It clearly does not display all the text and features intended on the page. Selecting some of the buttons on this screen also result in a truncated screen.
Hope you can correct.

| Whenever I try and import an SSG that I have done in Toolkit 5 into my Iclub website, I get a message that my file has been corrupted and it is not accepted. I save it as a .ITK file into word before importing it into our clubs Iclub site. I have done this successfully in the past. Can you tell me what the problem might be and how to correct it? Thanks, Sheila |

This morning I tried unsuccessfully to update prices using Toolkit. I also was unable to update Take $tock data. I assume the ICLUB data servers are down for maintenance. Is this correct?
