Ellis Traub's fifth pick is Lennar. Ellis says: "Lennar (LEN) - A homebuilder whose skillful management has kept it from suffering as much as its competitors from the agonies in the housing market. This is a field that will always have potential customers (the population will keep growing in my lifetime) but one that requires wisdom in balancing the product with the potential demand. Stuart Miller, CEO of this company, must have believed in Harry Dent's view of demographic demand dictating the market for his products. The threat of trouble in the housing market has done a number on the price of most companies in this sector but I think Lennar's strategy makes this a fine acquisition for the intrepid long-term investor. (I own it.)" Ellis used Take Stock (desktop version) to analyze Lennar. His analysis is attached to this message.
