I'm glad you're back to the After Hours Book Forum. As promised, here are the names of the books we'll be discussing in the next four months: The Little Book of Value Investing by Christopher H. Browne, The Investment Biker by Jim Rogers, Super Stocks by Kenneth L. Fisher, and The Successful Investor Today by Larry E. Swedroe. These titles can be purchased from your local bookstore or online merchant. Many of these titles are available from your community library. We will begin our discussion of The Little Book of Value Investing on Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Tomorrow I will provide a summary of Christopher Browne's book.

Hey, Sheryl--Which of the Jim Roger Investment Biker Books will be the next book for your book discussion?  There were 2 available through the library--"On the Road" and "Around the World"

There are two editions of The Investment Biker by Jim Rogers. The Investment Biker: on the road with Jim Rogers, hardcover edition, was published by Random House. The Investment Biker: around the world with Jim Rogers, softcover edition, was published by Adams Media Corporation. Your public library may have both editions in circulation. They are the same text.

Are you tiring of watching the Dow Jones Averages fluctuate? I have another book selection to add to your pile. It's a brand new title by Louis Navellier called The Little Book That Makes You Rich. This is another popular choice in the little book series that deals with growth-style investing.

I recommended The Little Book That Makes You Rich to Lynn Ostrem of the Crow River Investment Club. And guess what? Besides moving that huge stack of consulting paperwork off her desk, she read Louie's book in one sitting. Then she made a pitch to the Crow River club members. I can't keep my copy in stock; they all want to read the book. And they want to start a discussion about Louie's investing style.

I will write a detailed summary of The Little Book That Makes You Rich in early January. Let's plan to start our discussion of Louie's book on January 14, 2008. Stop trading! Start reading!

Good news for those of you who like to read ahead. I've scheduled the next three months of After Hours Book discussions:

March 24 thru March 28 The Successful Investor Today by Larry E. Swedroe

April 14 thru April 18 The Clean Tech Revolution by Ron Pernick and Clint Wilder

May 19 thru May 23 Trading to Win by Ari Kiev

All of these titles can be purchased at your local bookstore or through an Amazon retailer. If you don't wish to purchase these titles, you can borrow them from your public library.

We're in the midst of a lively discussion of The Little Book That Makes You Rich by Louis Navellier. Louie is on constant watch for the best ideas in growth stocks.

If you haven't visited or posted on the After Hours Book Forum, I hope you'll consider becoming an active participant.

Notice of a change in our book selection for July:

Instead of It's When You Sell That Counts 3rd ed by Donald Cassidy, we will discuss Gene Marcial's Seven Commandments of Stock Investing

Gene Marcial has led investors on a path of success for 26 years as a columnist for Business Week magazine. USA Today published a highly favorable review of Marcial's book in its June 23rd print edition.

Our discussion of the book will begin on Monday, July 21, 2008. I invite you to join in.
