Hi All! My name is Sheryl Sostarich and welcome to the After Hours Book Forum. I have been invited to lead discussions of some of the best reads in investing literature.
For those who don't know me, I am a member of BetterInvesting, StockCentral, Manifest Investing, the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) and an officer in the Crow River Investment Club in Minneapolis. I'm a past director of BetterInvesting and AAII and I'm an active member of the Manifest User's Group planning committee.
While my father instilled in me the importance of saving money, my mother taught me the principles of sound money management. I am an insatiable reader and I hope to motivate you to learn and earn.
Enough about me! Let's get started! Each month I'll choose an investing title for us to read. I'll share my insights about the book and pose key questions to keep the discussion rolling. Our first selection is The Little Book of Value Investing by Christopher H. Browne. I'm anxious to hear from you.

Way to go, Sheryl. Congratulations on your new role as book discussion leader! I used to read financial books when I first got started in 1994, but frankly, there were just too many and I couldn't keep up. I hadn't read an investing book in several years until you joined our club. Now, of course, I've got them backed up on the nightstand (doesn't help that they are mysteriously showing up on my doorstep, either! ) I'll be following along on our next adventure. It'll be nice to do it through this forum as opposed to at Panera. But don't think this will get you out of your turn to buy the lattes! Lynn O. |

I'd also like to welcome Sheryl to our forums! We're always on the lookout for ideas that can improve StockCentral. I hope that this is one of them! (Nudge!) I hope that Sheryl will give us a hint of her schedule for the next couple of months. That way, we can all get a head start on our reading! |

Hi, Sheryl--
What is your time-frame for the book discussions? Are you giving us notice for November? I haven't read the book, but I did request it from the library and I'm guessing I'll have it in a week. I'm glad you picked a short book!
