Similar to the Stock Analysis recently done by Mr. Sieger, would anyone be interested in working through some stocks and reviewing the analysis and decisions / judgement using current examples from the market?

Greg,

We just finished a workshop that focused on General Mills. You can find the discussion over in our GIS forum.

We'd also like to encourage everyone to believe that they can conduct a stock study. So, if you would be interested in leading a discussion, let me know and I'll contact you privately to schedule one.

But, you don't have to wait for me, either. If you would prefer, just pick a stock and start a discussion. You could even start with a "I'd like to study XXX company, but I don't know where to start." I'm sure that you'll have several of us chiming in and offereing advice, hints and tips. Give it a try!

And that invitation isn't just for Greg. We encourage everyone to discuss stocks, upload SSGs, etc. in all of our forums!

First, my apologies for mis-spelling Mr. Seger's name.

Second, I would be willing to start a discussion, and I do have some work to discuss.  What I'm looking for is reasoned discussion that tells me where I've misunderstood, misinterpreted, or just plain missed, something, working with "live" stocks.  I did work through the discussions about Portfolio management, using the SSG, and I'm starting the ratio analyzer, plus reviewing the data sources discussion.

How do we get started?

Greg

Greg,

I'd say that we get started by picking a company, and then moving over to the forum reserved for that company. If we don't have a forum, I'll create one.

Then, as a starter, download the data for that company, and open it using your favorite analysis software. Then, let's start the discussion with the "Visual Analysis" section of the Stock Selection Guide. If you'd rather, you can use the online version of Take Stock and we can start by discussing the Quality issues first.

I'd like to start with FMD (First Marblehead), and can move to that stock forum.  I'd like to start by writing up an article on "why" and my first look at the SSG side 1, then move from there, if that makes sense.  Then we move on to side 2 if it merits, and so on.  Would that work? If so, I'll get started, and post over there.
