I am soliciting respondents to an experiment in which I will test investors’ use of accounting and financial information in making investment decisions. The experiment is part of the research for my doctoral thesis. I believe that the results will be valuable to standard setters in their future decisions about information requirements for publicly traded companies. Participation in this experiment is completely voluntary and anonymous. You will be asked a few demographic questions, but no identifying information will be collected.
In this experiment, you will be able to choose up to ten pieces of information about a particular publicly traded company, whose name is concealed. After viewing your choice of information, you will be asked how much of a hypothetical $5000.00 you would like to invest in the company.
Once the investment is made, you will then take Alan J. Rowe’s Decision Style Inventory Test. People have found the results of this test invaluable. This knowledge has been used to managers to enhance their own and their organization’s performance. The test consists of 20 questions which will allow us to determine your decision style. Immediately, after submitting your answers, you will be given your results and a description of the style characteristics.
Your help in this research project is greatly appreciated.

Carolyn,
I'm eager to see your results...and your dissertation. Good luck with it.
I tried to participate in your study but, when I tried to look at the data behind the tabs, all that happened was that the sequence of tabs just repeated themselves below the first set of tabs and I couldn't access any of the data at all. I was interested only in the Company Operations tab, FWIW.
This may have been a glitch in my system; but, on the likelihood it's not, you might take a look at it to see if that's going to happen to others.
Best wishes,
Ellis Traub |

I had the same problem as Ellis. I'm using a Mac laptop, with Leopard Operating System. After the page with the tabs loaded, it seemed to bog down the whole operation. Al Molter |

Thanks for your participation. Maybe it is a Mac thing? I will have my programmer look into that.
Please if you know of others that might help, I would appreciate it.
Was the decision style information helpful? I was hoping that people would like that. Some people actually pay money for this type of information.

My programmer got the problem fixed. Please if you didn't finish the experiment, try again.
Thanks so much for your help.
