Contrary to what you might expect, I don't believe anything should be done
regarding "late" payment of dues. Those who pay late are penalized by having
less invested in the club, thus they get a smaller share of the club's gains.
While one of the principles of the BetterInvesting philosophy is regular
investment, you can't legislate compliance.
On the other hand, your club might want to consider whether it wants to
retain members who aren't shouldering their fair share of the load - work load
and financial load.
The best pointer I can give you towards becoming a really, really good
treasurer is one you already know -- don't be afraid to ask questions. We were
all new treasurers at one time and we're happy to be able to share our
experiences.

Hello,
I am a newly appointed treasurer/vice president of an investment club
and need the assistance and guidance of you fine experts. Can you please give
me some suggestions concerning some remedies for members who do not pay dues
on time?
Also, can you give me some pointers on being a really, really
good treasurer?
Thanks in advance.
