If you both use Investor's Toolkit, this is fairly easy.

  1. Open Toolkit and click the menu for "File" and then "Export Data."
  2. Using the dropdown box at the bottom of the left column, select "Investor's Toolkit Format" as the export format.
  3. Double-click or drag files you want to export from the left column to the right column
  4. When you are ready, click the OK button
Toolkit will then ask you where you want to put the exported files.  Normally, I'll just put them on the desktop.  You might want to create a special folder.  Each exported company will be named XXXX.ITK where XXXX is the ticker name.  So, Johnson & Johnson will be exported to JNJ.ITK.

Finally, fire up your email program and address a message to the person with whom you are sharing.  You will "attach" your exported files to the email message.  (If you need help with this step, let me know what software you use for email.)

Joe,
What if you are using SA? Can an SSG be sent to others using TK? Can you receive an SSG from someone with TK if you use SA? Thanks.

Hello Pat,

stockfundas.com allows you to perform the complete front side / back-side analysis including stock comparision on-line.
And then you can share the analysis in your portfolio with friends and club members. You do not have to send any attachments.

Here is an example.

Give our site a whirl and let me know what you think.

Thanks

For sharing files between SA and Toolkit, the recommendation is that the files be exported in the SSG format. If I recall correctly, not all judgment items are exported in a way that is compatible between the two programs, but I don't recall what is missing. Toolkit's notes aren't transferred either.

If you are emailing an SSG file, it's best to ZIP it first ("compressed file") because some email programs will think that the SSG file is text to be appended to the message, not an attachment.
