| Teva Pharmaceuticals, ticker symbol TEVA on the NASDAQ, is a large
company based on FY2005 revenues of $5.25 billion. It is in the
Pharmaceuticals industry. TEVA is also covered by the Investor Advisory Service as of
the August 2006 issue, and is rated 3 for quality (on a scale of 1 to
5, with 1 being highest). |

Zacks is projecting a negative EPS growth rate for 2007. This is after TEVA indicated a share buy back program which, by definition should make EPS move upward. That being the case, why would Zacks predict a negative growth rate?

SEC filing shows a significently lower 2006 EPS than does the SSG.
Pre tax profit took a nosedive in 2006.
Something does not add up

Good question, Laura.
You may also want to peruse the attached plots of TEVA. In the first one you will note the decrease of earnings, tangible book value, and cash flow.
The second from an earlier time shows the S&P Core Earnings for 2001 through 2004. For whatever reason S&P not longer reports these important S&P Core earnings for TEVA. I have no idea why.
Data for the plots is from the S&P Reports.
Irv mentioned that Zacks predicted a dip in 2007 earnings. So does Value Line. |

The SSG I did on Toolkit 5 using Stock Central data showed PTP up and down on the front and then had "down" in Section 2. However, the SSG on Take Stock (program on my computer, which seems to be using S&P, has almost railroad tracks and up in Section 2 A. It also has 8.9 rating. This is contrast to Take Stock on Stock Central which has a 3 rating and don't buy. It is frustrating when all of the data is so different. Any explanations why and which should we use?
