Hi...

I am considering starting a Forex/Equities Investment Club.  I am a FX account manager and see that there needs to be new paradigm of combining FX/Equities because cross border markets are being driven by foreign currency/commodities more and more.

Any thoughts?  Insights?

Appreciated your feedback  - if constructive.

Sincerely,

Rich Kambak

I am considering starting a Forex/Equities Investment Club.

Hi, Rich!

Could you tell us more about the proposed club?  How would it operate.  Would you purchase only foreign equities?

(and ... welcome to StockCentral!)

Joe

Thx for your reply.  I was wondering how FX and Equities club could work together.  I’m a FXManager for Dukascopy and Oanda…  was just exploring the possibility….

The club may or may not be able to hold an account in FX if involved in Equities… I’ll have to investigate this…

I’ll get  back to you after my trading week is over.

Best,

Rich

Isn't Forex trading regulated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission? If so, a Forex club would probably be more like a Commodity Pool, and not come under the purview of the SEC. I imagine that combining forex and equities might create a regulatory quagmire.

I'd have to agree with Ira that active trading isn't well suited for investment clubs.  The kinds of clubs that we encourage investing using fundamentals, and we also encourage people to ignore "the market" and instead buy good companies with the intention of holding them.

Because you are in the industry, you might well find that your firm doesn't permit you to be in an investment club.

Thx for the feed back.  I will need to sit down and write up the way this will work… with in trading laws… I got a lot of feedback… just bare with me… because there is a way.

Also, I’m an independent FXManager – and do not work for a brokerage.  There is no conflict of interest in this regard.

But before I say something I regret given the well deserved and appreciated scrutinity… I’ll hold off till I can give complete focus to this.

Keep in touch and I really like Stock Central.

Best,

Rich

Hi Doug:

Thx for your reply.  I got a handful.  I’m writing a paper on this given the feedback – legal concerns and will respond in kind after I’ve some time to research it thoroughly.

Keep in touch.

What a day on Wall Street.

Rich
