i am using the stock analyst demo because the toolkit software will not run on my laptop (scrrun.dll error while setting up).
to make sure that there is file compatibility between toolkit (used by the rest of the club) and stock analyst, i am attempting to export a .ssg file from the stock analyst demo. after selecting file, export, the screen shows an empty rectangle on the left and says that 0 of 0 files have been selected. i cannot figure out how to get a file or a list of files in that rectangle to select from. i have the demo portfolio and have also created my own portfolio but none of those will show up.
my question: are there no files to export because i am using the demo version or do i need to follow a different procedure?
thanks for pointing me in the right direction, simone spiess

Hello Simon, You are not doing anything incorrectly, SSG and SDF exporting is disabled in the demo version of Stock Analyst. Once the program is registered, you will be able to export data normally. Best regards, John McHugh |

hi john, thanks very much for those encouraging lines.
since i have spent all of today in a last and final attempt to make
toolkit run on my notebook (did not succeed),
i have been worried that my alternative of stock analyst might also
have a software problem on this computer.
so glad to know that it will work fine once i have bought the code.
now, onwards to approaching betterinvesting about an 'thirty dollar
upgrade' and more learning.
thanks again - i am smiling now, simone

Even when SSG/SDF file exporting is enabled, you will not be able (unless something has changed recently) to use that to exchange completed SSGs with Toolkit with the judgment intact.
