I had downloaded the SSG data
2006 EPS for 2006 is 3.50 on page 2 of SSG
2006 EPS for 2006 is 3.62 on PERT A
Why the difference?
( by the way the Boeing Annual report shows $3.62 incl. all
one time occurrences -- otherwise $2.63?)
BI \ OPS shows the 2006 EPS as $4.24
I have from Liz Goode the Data Feeds Comparison.
Still, I would like to "see" a discussion on these EPS data.
It is my intent to buy BA in our Club.

Hi,
We are looking into this currently. By my count when adding up the individual EPS Q data from 2006 it equals 3.62. I'll post here when it is fixed and thanks for the report!

Hi Ado,
This is due to different values for SpecialIncomeCharges in the 4 quarters versus the annual table in our data from Hemscott. We don't use the raw EPS numbers. We calculate diluted normalized EPS according to our own formula, devised by Ellis Traub, so we're at risk when the underlying numbers don't line up between quarterly and annual data. We will notify our data provider of the error and post here when it is fixed. Thanks again for letting us know about the discrepancy.

As per Hemscott:
"Boeing's Special Item has been changed so that it is now consistently
classified as "Restructuring and M&A", and the 2006 quarters now add up to the
2006 Annual value."
should be a permanent fix and should show up in the data files on Monday 1/14. Thanks again for your report Ado! |

We have confirmed that the data from Hemscott has been corrected and the error should not recur. |
