I compared the annual data for HD obtained from Hemscott to the data from S&P SDS. I was trying to determine if Hemscott uses fiscal year or year end data. The SDS data is consistent with fiscal year prices on Yahoo Finance. The Hemscott year high and low prices are not consistent with Yahoo Finance, so I can't tell where they come from and can't tell whether or not it is supposed to be fiscal year.

Thanks, Dana!
The prices are supposed to be fiscal year prices, based on the daily closing price.

Dana,
Thanks for you contribution.
The high and low prices in the StockCentral files are fiscal year prices and based on the closing prices, not the intraday prices.
I downloaded Yahoo Finance prices for HD from 2/1/2005 through 1/31/2006 -- HD's FY 2005.
High (intraday) $43.98 (closing) $43.95 Low $34.56 $35.09
The closing high and low prices agree with the numbers in the StockCentral data file. The intraday high and low prices agree with the number in the OPS data file.
I, myself, wouldn't worry too much about the difference between intraday and closing high and low prices. I believe that the daily price in the OPS datafile is the closing price.

Thanks Joe,
You are right about closing prices. I had checked monthly data on Yahoo!Finance, so I did not see the daily closing prices. Closing prices are just fine with me. My main concern was whether the prices are for the fiscal or the calendar year, and they appear to be calendar year.
Look at Fiscal yr. 2002 (Feb 1, 2002 - Jan 31, 2003). HD closed at a low of $20.53 on Jan 31, 2003. This price shows as the low for 2003, not 2002.
I forgot to mention in my previous email that delighted to have Insider and Institutional Holdings in the data!

The prices are supposed to be FISCAL YEAR prices. If they aren't, we have a problem!
